January is coming soon and I've been busy, preparing to leave for Calvary Chapel's missions training program. Things are coming together really well and I'm looking forward to seeing what God has in store for the next year! I'll be flying to Hungary on January 27 and starting the program within a few days of my arrival at the school. It's been a couple of years since I've been in school and this will be my first dorm experience outside of staying in hostels while traveling, so please pray for me as I switch gears in my life. I'm also starting in Spring instead of Fall, so it could be interesting.
My next step in preparation is the craft bazaar this weekend. I'll have a table with magnets, scrapbook-style greeting cards, fuzzy scarves and more. The bazaar is in Prineville at the Crook County Christian School (839 S. Main Street) from 9am-4pm. Please stop by and say hello! Buying stuff would be great too! All of the proceeds are going to support missions - most of it is supporting me in the missions training and outreaches and the rest is going to Love Through Me (check out Stephanie and Leslie's site: www.lovethroughme.org) to help them buy a van for their women's home. What doesn't sell at the bazaar will be listed on the blog or if you're in this area and want to take a look you can let me know.
January is also a new beginning for Love Through Me - they will be moving several women from one side of Romania to the other to start a new life. These are women who have likely never known a home or family in the sense that most of us have. They grew up in state orphanages and ended up on the streets without skills, direction, or hope. Stephanie and Leslie are offering them training, direction, and the hope that is found in the love of God. They have agreed to let me come work with them again (see my other blog: Nu Vorbesc Romaneste) over the summer. I'll be teaching English, learning Romanian, letting God's love show through me to the women we will be working with, and learning alot - including Romanian so I'll be able to truthfully say "Da. Eu vorbesc romaneste." (Yes. I speak Romanian.) I'm looking forward to that.
